VIRGINIA STATE CLUB AT A GLANCE

The Virginia Club of The Villages, Florida historical records indicate the club was formally established in early 1990.  We have gone through a couple of name iterations and were subsequently called The Original Virginia Club and now the Virginia State Club.  The Club consistently meets at noon in the Colony Club Recreation Center in The Villages on the first Saturday of every month except July and August.  The Club provides the opportunity for club members living in The Villages to socialize, share memories, develop new friends/relationships, enjoy entertainment and partake in the sharing of good food with a common bond to the Commonwealth of Virginia.  To become a member of the club one needs to be born, have lived, driven through, or flown over Virginia.  Current Club meetings start at noon on the first Saturday of every month except July and August with an opening ceremony (pledge of allegiance and a prayer), usually followed by a pot luck luncheon with food provided by club members, then club business, and an entertainment program.  The meetings routinely last about two hours.  Dues are $10 per person a year.  The Club sponsors a program for the Lady Lake Christian Food Pantry with club members bringing food items or monetary contributions each meeting for donation to the food pantry.  The Club also sponsors additional opportunities for gatherings outside of its normal meetings to attend events and entertainment in the local area.  For additional information about the Virginia State Club please contact the Club President (Glenn Schneider) by using our "contact us."
